Kinja'd!!!

So I posted my coilover kit on here a while back, and now the thing i installed so I thought I'd post some pictures. It isn't very low as winter is coming and clearance may become an issue.

The coilovers in the crash like a bitch on the front when I go over bumps, which we're hoping to remedy somehow.

There's a list of things it needs so long it would just depress me to type it all out her, but I've got a FC 13B, which needs an intake/carb, waiting patiently. If anyone has a 48 IDA Weber/has a line on a cheap one let me know.

P.S. It may look like it has leprosy, but that's just the result of two different coloured cars, a hole in the door filled by that o-so-miraculous bondo and a can of flat black spray paint.

Looks like potential.

I have always wondered what an open-cockpit speedster conversion would look like on this body... I think it would look fantastic, like a sleek little rotary-powered torpedo.

I can see the front with the window cut down, or perhaps brookland screens on it, but the back I can't quite picture how it would work. They are really sleek though.

As for potential, it definitely has the potential to suck the bills out of mu wallet like a nuclear- powered Dyson.

Nice! what year do you have? My dad and i have custody of this 79'. with only 36K miles on its clock, we dont drive it unfortunately, and are looking to sell. That, and its an auto. But its an awesome car though.

This is one of the only decent pics we have at the moment. I want to get a lot more shots of it with mine and my dads car since we all have white cars.

That's a clean car. I can't get over how clean it looks from this picture. Low kilometres too, which is nice. Always liked the waffle wheels. They look so much better than the four spokes in my opinion. It's too bad it's an auto. The rotaries are bad enough torque-wise that an old school torque converter must really slow it down. It is beautiful and hopefully it goes to someone who will enjoy it.

Mine's an '83 and has had a rough life, and now cancer is threatening it. My Dad owns a body shop though so I should be able to rectify that.

She has her love marks here and there, but its a solid car. There is no crazy rust. Only problem is from the poor drainage area around the seal in the back window. There is a small ritz cracker size spot of surface rust.

We just have to do a carb rebuilt to narrow down if thats the source of its idle issues. A whole fluids flush is needed, but, thats not happening at the moment since the thing hasnt gone more than a 100ft in the past 3-4 years. Which worries me about apex seals.... and now you can see why we kind of want to sell it. Its a perfect car for what it is, but me or my dad dont have the heart to invest money in this when we could invest it in a much more enjoyable muscle car project or something. With such little mileage, and the fact its an auto, is the main reason why it just sits.

heres what the bay looks like.

here you go. another picture for replying haha.

You know, i like these wheels alot, but only because they are super clean. If they were dirty at all, i would hate them. This wheel only looks good clean.

But there is nothing like the sound of a rotary and the burp burp burp idle. i could listen to that for hours. And the speed at which it revs up. astounding.

I hope you can treat her cancer accordingly and get her back to good health. And enjoy that car as much as you can, for fear of what has happened to ours. its a garage queen. and until we find that buyer, it will never see the roads again.

Nuclear Powered Dyson... I'll have to remember that one.

For the back... I was thinking one of two things... either completely flattened off, the B-pillars cut off at the window sills, and a rear bulkhead formed across the body at that point... basically like a convertible with no folding top, and a flat trunk lid fabricated to cover the rear cargo area.... possibly with a brace connecting the rear bulkhead to the center of the cowl, at the top center of the dash.... optionally with a panel cover over the passenger's side, as well, and the tops of the doors closed off. Depending on the windscreen, perhaps triangular polycarbonate wing window.

The other option... a B-pillar roll hoop. similar to previous but leaving a roll-structure intact, Cut the roof out like a targa top, and remove the rear hatch and quarter windows... close off the cargo area with a trunk lid panel, smooth and roll under the edges of the B-pillar and remaining section of roof between them, with a tube roll hoop just beneath it. Something slightly akin to a race-prepped Fiat X1-9 or Porsche 914 with no roof, no rear glass, just the b-pillar hoop left in place for a roll protective structure. But rolling over something that light, and low, with such a low center of gravity would take some doing.

Those cars are fun. I had an 85 GSL-SE with an aggressive street port on the 13b. It was like an ax murder, flame thrower, and car all rolled into one.
